Custom 8x16 Mobile Sauna Built for the North Metro

Most mobile saunas look exactly like what they are - a box on a trailer with a heater thrown inside. This build is nothing like that. We designed this 8x16 unit from the ground up for a client in the north metro who had a specific vision: serious capacity, real-world durability, and the ability to take it anywhere.

Inside, the cedar benching is built to hold up to 15 adults comfortably. That's not a rough estimate - that's by design. The tiered layout gives everyone proper position relative to the heat, and the IKI wood-fired stove at the center of it all is loaded with sauna stones and built to perform at volume. It gets hot fast and stays consistent. That matters when you're running sessions back to back.

One feature that sets this unit apart from anything else we've built - a trap door integrated into the dressing room floor. Pull it onto a frozen lake in January, open that door, and you've got a direct sauna-to-cold-plunge setup without ever stepping outside. For Minnesota winters, that's not a gimmick. That's the whole experience.

The exterior details tell the same story as the interior. Flush-trimmed windows with warm cedar reveals, custom doors, clean vertical board siding, and proper running lights give it a finished look that holds up whether it's parked at a private event or sitting in someone's driveway. This client figured that out quickly - after taking delivery, he turned it into a rental sauna for events and commercial use. Then came back and had us build permanent outdoor saunas at both his home in Champlin and his cabin up north. That's what happens when a build actually delivers.
